B..I..T..E..BITE!

Secara rasminya, hari ni aku dah start mengajar kelas 2D. Challenging. I never had experience teaching Year 2 before, so agak tough. Tambah lagi kelas ni slow learners. Today was my first contact with them. There are 24 of them. 6 were absent. I had hard time to remember their names since semua nampak sama je di mata aku. Sekali pandang la. Kecik, bulat, comel. Typical Year 2 pupils. One caught my eyes. Very small and his voice is similar to Upin Ipin's voice. With one look, I can easily remember his. The rest, I still try my best to remember their names. It's important to know their names as it will be easier for me to monitor their progress.

So, today I read a story about a lion and a mouse. Seperti biasa, first masuk mengajar ni, jadi ambitious sikit.  Macam macam nak buat. I expected them to respect me and listen to me well. Tapi selalunya jangkaan itu akan meleset on the first day. Yes. Memang meleset. Budak budak tu buas gila! What do you expect? Year 2 pupils, kelas hujung pulak tu, tahap kenakalan tu agak tinggi. First day dah tarik sideburn budak. I had to. Because he kept disturbing the lesson by kicking his table.Very rude. Two more were sent outside the class because they joke around. And one was called to the front to be the teacher. Kita mengajar, dia pot pet pot pet kat belakang. Hah. Memang out of control sikit first day. Still learning their behaviour. Nak rotan, I had been warned by the PPD officer before I went to the school. "Tak boleh rotan, satgi jadi panjang cerita.La ni mak pak main saman saman teruih.Lagi satu awak tak jadi pegawai perkhidmatan yang tetap lagi. So, jangan rotan budak." Understood.

Budak budak pun banyak pe'el nya.

"Teacher, teacher, dia curi marker biru saya"
"Habis tu, awak nak saya buat apa? Pi minta balik dari dia"

"Teacher, nak terkencing....."
(Bila sorang minta nak ke tandas, the others will do the same thing too. This is called penyakit kencing berjangkit)
" Tahan sat. Habis waktu teacher sat lagi, pi la kencing"

"Ok.Repeat after me. B..I..T..E.."
"Gigit!"
"No, you repeat the spelling after me. One more time. B..I..T..E.."
"Gigit!"
"Yes, I know BITE is GIGIT. But I want you to repeat the spelling after me. ikut teacher eja perkataan ini, B..I..T..E, BITE!"
"Ooo..B..I..T..E, BITE!"

T_____________T

There's still more that I need to learn. This KSSR thingy is still new to me. Sebelum ni belajar teori je. The real challenge is to apply the knowledge that you have learnt in your teaching lesson. Glad that the senior teacher especially the KP of English subject is really helpful.

Hadapi esok dengan senyuman =)

ermm ... welcome to the REAL WORLD OF TEACHING .. soon u will be attached to a school as qualified teacher; so this like a ' practicing period' lah ye :) .. apapun the advice given by PPD is TOTALLY RIGHT. NEVER ( baca banyak kali ) hit them especially when u are really mad at them cos .. pukul masa marah kesannya lain. Young teachers are very ambitious, full of ideas and very energetic. So when they get such students like what u said .. they tend to become a bit shocked and sometimes frustrated. However, it's just temporary. U will get thro it soon ..
