That's why aku pergi Wellington last year untuk grad. Kali ni grad anjuran IPGM pulak. Tapi cert degree satu je lah. Melampau la kan nak dapat dua cert. Untung buat degree dua tempat ni. Grad pun dua tempat.Hahaha.Pulun kan?Orang sumpah ramai. Crowded sana sini. Mujur la tak bawa tok mai sini.If tak, jenuh hingaq orang tua tu penat nak menunggu aku.Hohoho. Aku bawa bang cik dan Ika ja. Lagipun pass masuk hanya untuk 2 orang. So,ok la tu. Suasana konvo seperti biasa.Aku kena sidang 1. If tak silap, ada 6 sidang semuanya,Mujurlah sidang aku paling sikit. So, idok ler lama sangat nak menunggu naik stage.

Graduation Day (Part 2)

The next day, we have a graduation parade. Haa..Ini yang special pasal Victoria ni. It has become a tradition where the graduands will be parading along the city street accompanied by the brass band. It's a celebration of joy for the graduands. Actually, aku plan nak pakai kebaya time parade ni tapi memikirkan kain kebaya tu sempit, nak parade macam susah. So, ulang pakai baju yang sama time dapat scroll. Kihkihkih

As we were busy taking photos, two ladies came and approached us. They asked for two volunteers to hold the Victoria banner. Laju je aku dan Elin angkat tangan. Hehehe. Right after the brass band. =P  Even the chancellors and lecturers were also lining up behind us. Nampak tak betapa pentingnya role kami? Hahahaha. Why they chose foreign students not the locals? Maybe because they wanted to show the diversity of students in Victoria. If I'm not mistaken, bilangan foreign students di Victoria agak banyak berbanding local people. Pernah jadi isu hangat kat paper bila dorang umumkan nak buka more offer to the foreigners instead of their own people.

When the brass band started marching, kitorang pun ikut la kat belakang. The person in charge told us not to follow too close, biar ada few gaps between them and us. There were times when I walked too fast and the lady in orange safety vest whispered to me, "Not too close darling.Slow down a bit" Hahahaha. I was nervous. Macam fashion show pun ada. There were so many people watching us, taking photos. I tried to smile as long as I can. Sampai kejang muka ni haa. The wind was so strong that sometimes the banner rolled up the pole. Time ni la rasa bersyukur sangat tak pakai kebaya. If tak, ada yang dapat tengok free show.Hihihi.

I had my limelight moment when my hood flew away from my head because of the strong wind. T______T It dropped right in front of the chancellor's feet. I was too shocked that I stopped walking and try to take it back. To my surprise, the chancellor bent down his body and took my stupid hood for me. Just when I got back my hood, Elin's hood pulak yang jatuh. The situation became chaotic out of sudden just because of our hoods. Huwa! What a shame! When the parade ended, the chancellor came and talked to us "This is the first time ever in Victorian history such thing happened. The wind must be too strong aye? " Rasa macam nak tutup muka dengan robe tu ja.Hahaha.Malu gila. I did not know whether there's people yang rekod that moment. If ada, tolong la delete. If tak nak delete, simpan buat kenangan sendiri je lah nooo. Janganlah share kat mana mana. Buat malu kaum sejagat je. Jatuh saham I. Sobs.

Ambil gambar banyak banyak. Lighting  baik punya.

Pinjam mak Elin. Huhuhu. We are the "parent-less" graduands. Thank you to the girls sebab bagi bunga kat I. Huhu.Terharu.

With some of my cohormates. It was a beautiful day. Shine bright like a diamond.

Ikut tangga ketinggian.Yeay! Dah graduate! Sekarang menganggur T_______T

Graduation day (Part 1)

It's been almost 2 months since my graduation. Walaupun dah lama berlalu, memori indah tu masih segar di ingatan.Ecewah.I will never forget the moment. The moment when they called my name and I was on stage to receive my scroll. It's an honour to be in the ceremony. I feel blessed, lucky, excited and anxious to be given the opportunity to be back in Wellington. After all the hardship, terpaksa hutang dulu beli tiket, terlepas tiket murah where I ended up buying different ticket price than my friend, finally I manage to be in the ceremony.Yeah!

I thought it will be nice to share my experience here with all my lovely readers. Mind you, this is quite a long entry.

My graduation was on 12.12.12 in the evening. We were invited to join a tea party held by our faculty 4 hours before the ceremony. Basically, when you go to mat saleh tea party, don't even dream of having heavy meal as they will only serve you kuih or sandwich saja. Fortunately, we were very lucky to have a very understanding advisor who provides us with halal food. So, we did not have to be too choosy or hesitant as we can eat all the foods.Hahaha.So what they normally do during tea party is sembang sembang sambil telan air. That's what I observe la. They chat more than eat. Tapi kalau budak Melayu macam we'olls ni, we tend to eat more than chat. And we like to distance ourselves from them and make our own group chatting. Not chatting sangat pun, group eating I would say. Hahaha. Sangat tak berkembang. Sampai our advisor and lecturer yang kena datang and tanya khabar. See, baru setahun balik Malaysia, datang sini balik jadi tak reti nak adapt dengan mat saleh. Nak manis mulut, senyum all the time while u have to talk like normal English people, sometimes it is sooooo hard. You feel much more comfortable talking English to your Malaysian friends because they are like you. Broken English also accepted maaa..Try speaking broken English with the native speakers, confirm kening dorang bercantum jadi satu line! =D

Purple by accident.Look, I was trying to look intellectual in front of Anette. Trying my best to socialize in English. =P

Us with the lecturers. Above, Stuart Webb. He is so tall like a statue.Huhuhu.Below, with our beloved Anette.

Before the graduation ceremony started, we were given marshaling numbers where we have to queue according to it.Ikut sir name. So,merasa jugak la duduk in the middle of the row sebab nama bapak start huruf M. Hehehe. Kalau tak, asyik kena duduk paling belakang sekali pasal nama sendiri start dengan Z. Sobs..Tomey tak robe kitorang? Siap ada bulu mushy mushy lagi.Hehehe. Oh, By the way, the colour of the robe is different according to the courses that we take. So, budak TESOL dapat peacock green colour. Budak art dapat pink dan sebagainya. Ada macam macam colour.

As we entered the hall, we could hear the Maoris chanting the Haka with so much energy you feel like they were possessed by some kind of evil. This is a welcoming performance.Tabik spring la kat dorang because they manage to pull it off. Bukan senang nak buat Haka ni. Tambah tambah untuk satu jangka masa yang panjang sebab dorang still chant sampai la semua graduan dah masuk dewan. And there were about hundreds of graduands entering in a very slow pace of walking.

What I found interesting about overseas graduation, particularly in New Zealand is that they do not place so much formality in the ceremony. One thing for sure, there is no code attire that you need to follow. It just said that "wear something that is comfortable". Simple as ABC. For the local, kebanyakkan pakai dress, short skirt pun ada for the girls. For boys, rileks je pakai jeans. But there's also people yang smart. Wearing suit like a corporate people. Itu one thing. Dan satu lagi benda yang unik, (I am not sure whether this tradition is also incorporated in Malaysian university, as I never been to any of it yet) is you cannot wear the hood in the hall till the Chancellor announce that you are finally a graduand. Then, baru boleh pakai hood tu. Time dia announce tu, there's one kind of feeling yang susah nak explain.Nak berlinang air mata pun ada. Macam tak percaya dah graduate. How I wish Mama and Abah were there with me =( If you can see in above's picture. I have to greet the first person and then continue walking towards the end of the stage where the second person will be giving out my scroll. Tak tahu la apa relevannya dorang buat macam tu. Huhuhu.

Our course is the second last to receive the scroll. Awal awal tu semangat la tepuk tangan kat orang yang naik atas pentas tu. Then makin lama, makin bosan dan makin mengantuk. Tepuk pun makin perlahan. Hahaha.Siap boleh terlelap kejap sementara nak tunggu giliran naik atas pentas. Another unique thing that happen during the ceremony is that the guests are allowed to cheer for their friends or relatives yang tengah ambil scroll tu. And to our surprise, when the first person from our course naik pentas, the guests shouted "Malaysia Boleh!" for 3 times and the crowds were definitely awed and they gave us a round of applause soon after the shout ended. Oh myyy...That was spectacular. Bangga sangat sangat.Huhuhuhu.The guests were our friends jugak yang sanggup datang tengok kitorang graduates.Terima kasih korang. Kalau kat Malaysia buat macam ni kan best.Toksah la nak formal formal sangat.Bosan.Huhuhuhu.Diselitkan juga performances in between the scroll giving ceremony.Untuk hilangkan mengantuk.Hehehe.Tapi disebabkan dorang bawa ahli soprano mana entah menyanyi atas pentas, it makes me more sleepy. T____T Memang tak pandai nak value the beauty of soprano.Huhuhu.

The graduation ended at night. Mind you this is a big party involving many English people. We are just the minority there.Lain la kalau dalam faculty kitorang which is education, dimana kami majoriti. We took so many picture in every corner.Hahaha.

With darlings and friends who came to see us graduate.Thank you so much!

Dah penat bergambar, perut pulak berbunyi. Masa tu dah almost 10.30 pm dan Cinta pun dah tutup.Tapi kami merayu kat tokey kedai untuk terima last customer malam tu. Begging punya begging, he finally allowed us to have late dinner there.Berkat buat muka sedih. Kaw time sama sama Malaysian.Hahaha.

It was definitely a day to remember. Part 2 coming soon =)

Revisit NZ: Things that I did in Wellington

This is a compilation of things that I did in Wellington apart from graduation. Yang graduation tu, aku buat entry lain pasal banyaaaaaak sangat gambar nak share.Hihihi. Here we go.

1) Hanging out at the harbour. Always will be my favourite place to lepak lepak. Memang masyuk. Sometimes, you can see people jumping into the sea especially during summer.Makin ramai yang ushar, makin galak dorang ulang terjun. With various styles of jumping. Some people even use this place to sleep and one of them is me.Hahaha.Punya la lama menunggu Adawiah and Arif pergi Te Papa Museum sampai boleh terlelap. It feels so good. Perfect combination of the sea breeze and the sunny weather. One thing yang seronok buat kerja gila kat sini sebab orang lain tak peduli or pandang serong pun kat kita.Cer buat macam tu kat Malaysia.

See see.Seeing girls in bikini in a public place like this is a normal thing for me.Dah tak larat nak tengok dah.Cemuih orang utagha kata.

2) Datang negeri orang putih tak try its coffee or latte memang silap besar la kan. As for me, I prefer mocha with vanilla on top. This one we bought it at Esquires in Reading Courtenay.Ternyata mocha NZ tak pernah mengecewakan aku.Sedap sangat. High in caffeine.Teringat zaman stay up buat assignment. Tidur malam jugak.

 3) Watching the Hobbit. Kelas kau tengok Hobbit kat NZ. It was a purple day for us by accident. Ingat nak ambil yang premiere screening punya tapi dah full. So, kitorang terpaksa tengok few days after premiere. Such a great movie.Loving every part of the stories especially the place.Baru tahu sebenarnya banyak lagi tempat cantik kat NZ yang aku tak explore. Must revisit there someday and go to the Hobbiton to really endure the feeling of being a hobbit.Insya-Allah if ada rezeki.

Nice kan? We watched the movie at The Embassy Theatre.Feeling tengok movie kat theatre is a bit different from cinema pasal the hall is super big and the screen is massive. Seating pun lain as it is in curve shape.

4) Meneman pengantin baru photoshoot kat harbour.Yes, tak sia sia depa angkut baju pengantin all the way from Gurun to Wellington semata mata untuk dapatkan shot yang stunning dan walah! Jadi perhatian mat saleh kejap pasai out of nowhere muncul pendekar dan puteri. Hehehe.Untunglah dapat honeymoon kat oversea =P The shot with the pigeons turns out to be so beautiful and it has become Adawiah's current cover photo on FB. Big thanks to Nana as the official photog and Juwe as the pigeon chaser.Hohoho.

As an ending...Hahaha. Toodles!

Revisit NZ : Auckland (Part 1)

Cuma time nak cop tu dia tanya je lah datang sini untuk apa. Sebab kitorang datang under visa melawat. Student visa dah expired. Sampai awal pagi. Badan rasa tak selesa sebab tak mandi. Even duduk dalam tempat yang ber aircond, still rasa hapak jugak weh.

Sampai je terus call Andrew. FYI, kat Auckland kami menyewa apartment student Malaysia. Kitorang booking last minute jugak la. Memula ingat nak duduk kat backpackers tapi mahal. Tak berbaloi. Korang kalau nak datang NZ, better menyewa dengan student Malaysia je. Murah pun murah, selesa pun selesa. Lagi satu, tak gaduh fikir nak samak segala pinggan mangkuk. Tapi dalam kes kitorang ni, kitorang samak jugak la pasal duduk rumah student Chinese.

Oh ye. Kos shuttle dari airport to town ialah 16 dollar sorang. Rate berbeza depends on berapa orang yang naik. Lagi ramai, lagi murah. Tapi harus diingat, drop point hanya satu. If korang nak turun kat different alamat, makanya, dia charge harga sorang la which is around 30 dollar. Ada tiga option nak pergi town. Satu, by teksi. Dua, by bas dan ketiga by shuttle. Shuttle ni macam van panjang tu la.Kitorang malas nak naik bas sebab tak tau apartment tu kat mana. Kalau naik bas, kena turun kat bus stop. Lepas tu kena jalan cari rumah pulak.Malas.

Kami stay kat 96 Symonds Street.

Waktu sampai tu, lama jugak la figure out nak masuk apartment ni sebab sistem dia style kena swipe kunci baru terbuka pintu besar kat bawah tu. Hahaha. Nak buka letter box pun masalah. Duk ingat berkunci, padahal tolak bawah tu dah terbuka dah. Memang noob sikit la bab apartment ni. Al maklumlah, back in Malaysia, kami duk rumah kampung ja.Hehehe.

Buka je pintu rumah, waaaaaahhhhhh! Mak like! Cantik sangat. Kemas. Hang jangan nak mengada ngada nak size apartment macam saiz kondo. Ini apartment untuk 2 orang. Tapi kalau student Malaysia, konfirm sumbat 3. Nak jimat sewa.Hehehe. Meh tengok dalam rumah ni macam mana. Meh meh.

Ruangan dapur yang sangat kecik molek.

Ruang tamu.Arip sampai sampai ja terus buka tv dulu.

Ruang tamu dari arah dapur pulak.

Ini bilik I. Queen size. Syok boleh guling guling.

Toilet.

Ini pulak pemandangan dari rumah kami. Macam duk hotel pun ada. Hehehe.

Revisit NZ : Changi Airport

Bismillahhirohmanirrohim.
Fuh. Akhirnya tercipta jugak satu entry mukaddimah revisit NZ. Hahaha. I want you to feel like you're apart of this journey.Cewah.

So, kitorang naik Jetstar dari KL to Auckland. Tapi transit kat Singapore dulu. Merasa jugak la jejak kaki kat Singapore even just for transit. Transit lama jugak. About 6 hours. Waktu kat KLIA tu, teragak agak nak isi perut ke tak sebab nanti kat Singapore nak makan lagi. Tapi memikirkan duit Singapore mahal, jamah sikit la makanan kat KLIA tu. Huhuhu.

The newly weds, Adawiah and Arif.

Perjalanan dari KL to Singapore memakan masa selama sejam je.Kitorang agak kelam kabut jugak check in pasal tak sedar masa berjalan dengan pantasnya. Duk sibuk pi tukaq duit la, pi toilet la, menjamu selera la. Sekali dah panggil boarding dah. Kelam kabut hang naik aerotrain pergi terminal.

Sampai kat Singapore, tuju toilet dulu.Hahaha.Airport Singapore sangatlah besar.Kagum aku. Jalan punya jalan, tak jugak ketemu penghujungnya. Punya nak habaq kata besaq baq hang. Memandangkan transit lama, kitorang pusing pusing je lah dalam airport. Malas nak jalan kat town. Dalam airport pun rasa macam dalam shopping mall. No wonder la Changi airport dapat "The world's Best International Transit Airport". Tak bosan dan kebetulan time kami pergi tu tengah nak Krismas, makanya banyak la pokok Krismas.

Eating the leftovers that we bought at KLIA. Asalnya cuak nak bawa masuk, takut tak lepas kat kastam but alhamdulillah lepas. Hehehe.

Orang pemalas je yang naik benda alah ni. =P

Korang kalau datang Changi Airport, jangan risaulah pasal nak solat. Sebab ada disediakan surau. Besaq punya. Puas hati. Lengkap semuanya. Cuma satu je lah. Surau ada kat departure je. Arrival tak ada.Huhuhu. Anyway, nak cerita pasal surau kat Changi Airport. Tip top! Ada tempat amik wudhu' for both gender. Letak kat tempat lelaki solat. Sah sah la I yang gegirl ni segan nak pi situ. Sebab dia open. But don't you worry, toilet ada.

Tapi kalau dah open macam ni, terima kasih je lah mak cik oii. Kami berhijab.

Cakap ja multi-religion but semua yang aku nampak time tu orang Islam ja.

 Tengah meditate mungkin. Hahaha.

After solat, tetiba lapar balik. Mana taknya.Berjalan dalam airport tak ingat dunia. Masa pun banyak lagi, maka mencari makanan la kita yuk. Ada orang cakap kat Singapore nak cari makanan halal susah. Tapi tak pun sebenarnya. Tambah pulak kat airport.Of course la dia akan sediakan yang halal halal saja kan? Kalau tak, dorang yang rugi.Kekeke.

Inilah rupa food court dia. Dekat level 1 departure terminal. Many choices to choose from.Subway pun ada.

Our food.

Kasi close up sikit. Always and forever ayam penyet. SGD 7.20. Sedap weh.

Eating partner. Kalau bergambar dengan food, always sebelah dia. We love food.

Sek fan!
Ada free access to internet jugak. Tapi 15 minit je lah.Melampau la lama lama kan.

Kitorang, kalau dah jumpa internet, kerja nak check in kat FB ja la.Hahaha. Dasar.

Alhamdulillah, it never happened to me. Semuanya berjalan dengan sangat lancar. Off we went to Auckland. Okay, next post kita jumpa kat Auckland pulak nooooh.
